Saturday, February 9, 2013/ 1:39 AM One decision comes a long way
A lingering thought finally put into action.
Everyday has been different for me, with God's teachings transcending in its own way to guide me along the very road I pave. Before, it was a similar everyday to me, but now, something special or for me to learn manifests each day.
No one is there to listen, hence in creating my private space in this blog, is also for someone to listen. Confined to the several friends who are interested and willing to listen to my mundane stories.
Taxi sharing seems to be common, especially among friends. Usually I would, internally, hope someone going in the same direction can share a taxi with me, for time and monetary constraints. That is what just happened today. Being a female, I have to be protective of myself, thus it is not an easy feat for me to ask.
I was late for my dental appointment due to the excruciating wait for a taxi and there was another man waiting before me. Then halfway through, a caucasian came up and ask me if I was waiting for a taxi too. So apparently, there were the 3 of us. Whilst chatting, the caucasian asked if he could share a taxi with me and I was fine with it as I knew the wait would be painful for him. Finally, a taxi came and the man waiting before us was kind enough to ask both of us where we were heading to. Miraculously we were mostly heading in the same direction, I guess this was also God's plan. Strangers trust and acts of kindness. Would the trust to strangers actually be stronger than the people close to you?
My tooth extraction was incredibly smooth. I am also thankful for being able to have an appointment scheduled for me in the little free time I have before flying back to Sydney, especially during the Chinese New Year period. The dentist was recommended by my friend, and I would definitely commend him on that. There was no pain at all during the extraction, except for a slight pain during my 2nd injection, but not painful enough for me to react. Again, thankfully, it was a non surgical extraction to save all the unnecessary costs. I am glad I managed to pull through with my decision to extract my molar, with the discomfort/inconvenience it has been giving me. When I felt the pain, I just told myself, you 2 have been through so much more pain than this, this amount of pain would be nothing to you, as to myself. This helped me get through the pain :)
However, being ever hungry, right after the extraction came...Char kway teow and spring rolls for lunch, potato wedges, calamari and a cosmo for dinner. Bathing my wound in hot and deep fried food, and alcohol, in which I chose to trust my friend's google knowledge that it was fine to drink after extraction.
Praying for a healthy gum and healing, and a smooth 2nd day from my extraction.
